New Year's reading list

#3 of 12 days of New Year's Resolutions: read. More specifically, read more intellectually stimulating books than teen vampire novels. (Note: not that I didn't devour the Twilight series and thoroughly enjoy it, even though if I had to choose between Edward and Lestat, it would be the latter.) Top of my list right now is to read one chapter a day in Thomas Friedman's Hot, Flat, and Crowded - why we need a green revolution and how it can renew America. It's economics, environmentalism, and current events presented with wit and insight.

    You will LOVE People of the Book. I went to her reading, and she's wonderful.

    Books trump yoga in my life, so I am very interested in your experience with your reading!

    I have The Big Burn and Churchill on my nightstand right now. Presents :)

    YEAAAA!!! you're back!

    I've read her other books on women in the middle east and loved them - she's a fantastic writer so I'm excited to read her fiction too.

    happy happy 2010 to you too - i hope we will see each other in denver this year (I'm planning on it!) and maybe MT as well?? ;)

    Eat, Pray, Love (of course!)
    Animal, Vegetable, and Miracle - Barbara Kingsolver (ties right into one of your other resolutions - eating locally)

    I just received Committed by Elizabeth GIlbert in the mail. I can't wait to get started!

    Kathryn, Animal Vegetable Miracle is one of absolute faves too. needless to say, so is EPL. I just saw Committed at the bookstore. I'm holding off on getting it. for some reason I am hesitating - I have some resistance to reading about her views on marriage. I am sure I will succumb soon though.
