Ride Ollie Ride

Those of you that have small children that watch the Sprout channel know there is a show on there called "dive ollie dive". So of course I had this refrain going through my head this morning while riding horse Ollie out on the Mt. Ellis trail. Aside from that, today was one of those days when I needed to pinch myself: had an energizing acupuncture session first thing this morning, grabbed a big iced latte and drove about 10 minutes from the coffee place to the Mt. Ellis trailhead just outside of town. How is it I'd not been here yet?! Absolutely stunning. Pinch self. Do I really live here? If I could sing I would have burst into song on the trail. Perfect weather, gorgeous horse under me, the smell of fresh pine, hot pink riding helmet on my head. Here's Janice and I, both donning hot pink helmets. Happy, happy weekend. More tomorrow before Cowgirl Yoga starts Sunday, on a topic I've been neglecting lately: food.

  1. Amazing life you have. Meanwhile here in the UK the sun is shining beautifully, got up at 6am for yoga practise, (still not got dandasana, now my back is arching whilst trying to keep my butt down, aaargh) We've had cream tea (scones with cream and fresh strawberries) in the garden this afternoon and it's a beautiful day.
We all have lovely lives and we are thankful but you've definitely got better views!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend cowgirl

for dandasana, think about pushing down thru the heels of your hands, but not actually doing that forcefully. that really changed the pose for me.
    happy weekend to you too!

  3. Margaret, thanks for your advice...I'll try it tomorrow morning. I think my legs need to be stronger too, I'm trying to concentrate on my standing postures to achieve this. And I am realising how important Samasthitih is, the basis for everything. It's not just standing up is it!
Come to the UK, I'll make scones and tea and you can show me how it's done.
