Sharing a few more of my fave summer Yellowstone moments:
- a view of the YNP Grand Canyon.
- one of the most dramatic hikes in this area, Uncle Tom's trail - from 1898 to 1903, "uncle" Tom Richardson took park visitors 500 feet into the canyon on a series of precarious stairs and rope ladders for a spectacular view of the lower falls. Now there is a steep metal staircase bolted into the canyon wall.
- Still trying to figure this one out: buffalo hanging out by the Churning Cauldron, on a very hot day. They come in the winter for the warmth, but not sure why geysers and cauldrons would appeal in the middle of summer.
- Big boy elk. Never get tired of seeing these guys.
Speaking of Yellowstone...if you need a break from the summer heat, imagine the cool freshness of fall...and consider joining us for our first Yoga & Yellowstone retreat in early October.
I'm off to disconnect again...this time at our first Cowgirl Yoga Ranch Camp of the season (all are sold out this summer, but we'll be posting 2013 dates soon!). Looking forward to basking in the glow of the Crazy Mountains, practicing yoga in our funky open-air studio and riding up Yeehaw hill...and saying Namaste at the top.
